I just wanted to say a BIG Thanks to everyone that came out to support The Herb Room by shopping locally at Joanna’s 10th Annual Holiday Shopping Event.

I had a great time meeting so many folks, both near and far, PLUS I had the pleasure of working with an amazing group of women representing over 15 home grown businesses.

The Herb Room’s first ever local “home style” debut, where my natural soaps and Holiday gifties were offered!

Joanna’s 10th Annual Holiday Shopping Event showcased fabulous vendors – from handmade goods by local artisans, to clothing, and independent consultants offering jewelry, home products and more. Mary Champagne from Pampered Chef made some delicious dishes to share and Sarah Pierce’s homemade Zucchini bread is the best! All I can say is WOW!

It just wouldn’t be the Holidays if one of these Big favorites and a most requested side dish was missing from my table. We could never have that, now could we?

Nope. In fact, Clark’s Favorite YAMS are not requested, but demanded – genuine MMMMM. Truly z best family recipe, shared from none other than MamaJoan. The gift of family love, a delicious, priceless side dish that keeps on giving. Clark’s Favorite YAMS, on my table, every Holiday. Period. This surely indicates how the zesty Clark Clan likes to celebrate! With our favorite holiday dishes and each other. My absolute favorite part of this time of year is spending time in the kitchen preparing a few of my favorite things and enjoying them with y’all.

I always celebrate the countdown with a jig, a reverent hymn and my very favorite Holiday dish EVER – Old Fashioned Apple Pie.

I must dance and revel in the arrival of Holiday cheer, comfort, & bliss.
Now my praise to Old Fashioned Apple Pie – a reverent hymn by none other than yours truly. Aptly named, Holy Days & Holy Nights.
Rising with a piece in the morn’ to a day so bright, a slice at noon my lunch delight and after dinner, who could resist? Nothing’s as sweet, nor cakes do I need, just homemade apple pie a la mode and me. Amen.

What a delight it is to savor every bite of my favorite Holiday treat!

Sage wisdom brewed up in The Herb Room. My latest and greatest concoction, Sage Honey Ale soap.

Inspired and harvested from the beautiful organic sage growing in my garden and a recent dabbling in brewing beer.

Sage Honey Ale soap began with a visit to my Bastropian brewing Bro’s home to get a crash course in the fine art of brewing beer AND hang out with my one and only brother. Not just any brewer, my Bro’ consistently turns out some of the finest home brews in Central Texas, so I did some digging of my own and unearthed some herbal brew recipes that would be a perfect use of the abundant organic herbs growing in this year’s garden.

We decided to brew a unique European style beer, a recipe featuring my garden fresh sage, an herb that has roots in our Nordic ancestry and means “to save”. My brewing Bro is also an engineer, and me being the scientist and botanist knew this was going to be a great beer. Wow! I must say we created a masterpiece – the finest Sage Honey Ale, EVER. A unique twist on a Pilsner, our Sage Honey Ale had undertones of lemon, honey and a nice balance of earthy sage – divine with slices of oranges floating in liquid gold. Notice I said had – an exceptional brew like this takes no time to drink. And drink ye Sage Honey Ale we did.

Sage Salvia officinalis – a wise ally to many big and small.

Reserve it for lather? Sagely hard to do, this brew reserve turned into The Herb Room’s best truly special and worthy, Sage Honey Ale soap!

“Whatever ails ye not” with purifying Sage Honey Ale soap – created with a bit of our Sage Honey Ale brew and loads of organic sage straight from my garden!
